Free Software

The following are Microsoft Excel 97 workbooks. To use them you need Microsoft Excel 97 software.

If there is sufficient demand, the software can be revised to run in Excel5/95 and Windows 3.1, but this is not currently available.

• Circle v1.0 - Circle-1.0.xls (72 Kbytes)
  This illustrates the basis Monte Carlo Simulation technique and features in the May article.
• Plant v1.0 - Plant-1.0.xls (114 Kbytes)
  This features in the July article and illustrates the treatment of a factored cost. It also gives an alternate approach by treating the dependent cost as an independent function of size.
• TimeTest v1.0 - TimeTest-1.0.xls (407 Kbytes)
  This also features in the July article and illustrates how time dependency may be handled. The Microsoft Word document TT_notes-1.0.doc (144 Kbtes) contains further information regarding this sheet.
• IF (Investment Forecasting) v1.01 - IF-1.01.xls (348 Kbytes)
  This program is intended for preliminary investment screening and performs a full investment risk analysis. It treats investment, spend, finish date, sales volume, income and expenditure as distributions and combines these to produce an IRR probability curve.
